This project involved the site civil works for a new milk powder plant at the Synlait Milk factory, 10 minutes south of Dunsandel.  The project was taken on with an extremely tight timeframe and heavy penalties if this was not met.  Due to this, intensive project management and programming was required.  An increased difficulty was that BGCL was working amongst 250 other contractors on the site at the same time, all with similar constraints.  Work included 16,000m2 of new high stress roadways, specialized heat and acid resistant fiberglass pipework and manholes, large sediment settling and infiltration pond, 11KV ring main and fibre optic network, sewer, stormwater and water reticulations.
