OceanRidge is the latest projects from R.D. Hughes Developments Ltd, a name that has become synonymous with well-considered and deftly executed residential developments such as Northwood and Hampton Grange.
Ocean Ridge is a large hill side development that has been in the planning stages for many years. One unique aspect of this project was that B-G Contracting Ltd was employed by RD Hughes at the initial design phase. This encouraged Project Core Group (PCG) meetings at monthly intervals to discuss and review designs and issues. At these meeting the client, consultant and contractor were present and everyone was able to resolve feasibility issues for this exceptional location.
This in turn helped to produce a final design that was innovative but still easy to construct.
General
In 2006 the Ocean Ridge subdivision was recognised for its environmental management.The subdivision achieved the Landcare Research Special Award at the Canterbury Resource Management Awards 2006 run by Environment Canterbury.
